WHY OONI'S PALACE?

March 23, 2018

Yoruba is one of the  3 major ethnic groups in
Nigeria, together with the Igbo's and Hausa's. The yoruba's are base in the western part of the country, it is believed that all Yoruba's came from Ile Ife, since their fore father named Oduduwa who descended from the sky on a chain landed in Ile Ife.

Ooni's palace is the palace of the highest ranked king in Yoruba land, the king him self is called god. This palace is located in Ile Ife, Osun state Nigeria.

As different tribes has their deities/gods so the Yoruba's has theirs. There are 401 gods in Yoruba land, Ile ife has 201 and the Ooni is one out of it. It is said that everyday at the palace all through
the year is for celebration but just a day is excluded, only the Ooni knows the day. The frequent celebration is due to the worshipping of all the gods in Ile Ife.

Talking about the judgement system at the palace. There are four system of court at Ooni's palace, they judge and if the complaints is not cool with the judgement he/she moves to the higher court. The Ooni of Ife is the 3rd court and after his judgement and you are not satisfied then you go to the highest court where their is no mercy or sentiment. If you lie in this last court the reward is death between 7days.

As  trained security
guards follows the president of a country, so also different level of security personal (police, mopol...) follows the Ooni of ife but this official security personal have their boundaries. The emese Ooni are the only traditional security men that has the full authority to follow Ooni anywhere he is going according to tradition. These set of men are provided by a certain family in Ile Ife and their uniqueness is that their hair are half cut and usually on white when seen with the Ooni.

There is a special crown called Ade Aare that weighs 50kg. It is a special crown that the king wear only once in a year. A week to when the king is to go out with the crown, they must have started worshipping the crown. A hen with 5 toes is stretched to the crown and the blood of the hen dries up immediately, this sign signify the crown is ready to go out and the weight will be reduced for the king to be able to put it on. As the king work round the community with the crown people will point their middle finger to the crown and pray, the more they pray the more the weight of the crown increases on the head of the king. People around the king will always tell him not to say any negative words but to bear the pain and pray for the people of Ile Ife, Osun state and Nigeria at large.

Ladies! Check Out Some Essential Things That Must Be In Your Luggage When Traveling.

March 01, 2018
Travelling can be a fun thing to do for everyone, but that is when you have all that is needed to make it fun. Now am not talking about just the company (the people) you have on the trip with you, the sights you see, or the games you play. Although those things are quite important to make a trip/journey fun, we must not forget that there are some things that are very important, and when those things are present in our luggage, they make our trip stress free and enjoyable.
However, according to an English dictionary; to travel means to be on a journey, often for pleasure or business with a luggage: to go on a trip or tour from one place to another.

This article will point majorly at the essentials that should be found in any lady’s luggage so as to have an enjoyable and stress free trip.

It can be a very difficult task for any lady to pack what she would need for a day, a week, a month, or even a year without prior knowledge of what the place she’s traveling to looks like.
The most important thing after change of clothes for any lady is toiletries. This is because, as ladies we need to be very mindful of our health and also be very hygienic about it, especially when we are on a trip. Of course as important as a change of underwear, so is your SANITIZER (the pocket sized sanitizer is perfect), TISSUE PAPER, and SANITARY PADS,(who knows when your monthly cycle with decide to surprise you).

Another essential that should be found in a lady luggage is needle and thread. This is very important, take that from someone who is talking from experience (me). Trust me you don’t want to find yourself in a situation whereby you are in the midst of guys with torn clothes (accidents do happen, either through bad vehicles or tight wears, however tight wears are not advisable when travelling).

Also, always pack comfortable clothes, and also be prepared in case of harsh weather in an unknown place. For ladies who cannot do without facial make up, please make sure u go mild or better still, in accordance to the weather. Meanwhile another important essential is your ID card/credit card/ATM card, this will come in very handy in case of any emergency.

In conclusion, as a lady, to enjoy a hitch free and comfortable trip, you need to take note of all this and put the advice to use, however this is not all that is needed, but the important few. I hope have been able to help you.

This is me wishing you all the enjoyment and comfortability on your next trip.

OONI HOSTS AJE FESTIVAL, SAYS CULTURE ENHANCES ECONOMIC GROWTH

February 20, 2018
The Ooni of Ife and Arole Oduduwa, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has said that survival of the African people rests heavily on the sustainability of the Traditional Culture saying government and the people must collective utilize the culture as a way to greatly record productive economic advancement.

Ooni Ogunwusi who is the Spiritual leader of the Yoruba race worldwide made the disclosure on Monday during the celebrations of annual Aje Festival (deity of wealth) at Ile-Ife.

He said that Nigeria is abundantly blessed with cultural tourism potentials capable of turning the country to a viable economic nation.

The African foremost monarch added that the county's cultural potentials should be productively showcased as culture does not affect religions saying Culture does not even have a specific religion.

"As Christians or Muslims, we all need to respect our cultural heritage."

"In 2017, we prayed during the Aje Festival and we centered our prayers on the economic recession, and within one week, we surprisingly experienced dollar crash from about #480 to #350. "
" We have prayed and very soon, the economy will improve tremendously ". Ooni said.

"AJE is the spirit of market profitability. That is why it's festival is very important to all humanity, because nobody can survive without it".

"If we do business, profit is expected, if you work you expect stipends at the end of the month, so that is simply 'Aje', " , he expressed.

He urged the Youths to be industrious so as to fulfill their destiny and not to take the short-cut route to success.

The Co-chairman of National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria implored Youths to be agents of peace and refuse to engage in brigandage as election period is drawing nearer. He also prayed for the peace and progress of Ile-Ife, State of Osun, Nigeria, Africa and the world as a whole.

"Don't let politicians use you for thuggery or election violence as you too can be in their positions if you discover yourself and remain focused and full of determination. " he counselled.

"As we are gathered here today to celebrate AJE the festival of wealth, the Almighty Olodumare(God) will answer our prayers, he will abundantly give us peace and economic progress in Ile-Ife, in the State of Osun, in Nigeria, in Africa and. the world at large."Ooni prayed

In her speech, the Iyalaje of Apapa, Lagos and the Chief Promoter of 2018 AJE Festival, Princess Toyin Kolade, said that Yoruba culture is too important and rich to be ignored if we a must be seen as a serious people who care for the future generations because it depicts a significant perspective.

According to her, Aje is a festival of wealth which radiates on all the nooks and crannies of the world from its root at Ejigbomekun market, the world's oldest market located at Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba race.

She called Nigerians to value their cultural heritage, rather than ignoring them in favour because of foreign Culture and religion.

Veteran Yoruba Film Actress, Mrs Idowu Philips popularly called "Mama Rainbow" who led other Nollywood actors/actresses including Saheed Balogun in her short speech eulogised Ooni Ogunwusi for his unprecedented strides especially in Peace making and Cultural tourism revolution.
